Dear Grandad,
Over the past few weeks I have seen how loved you were and how many people will miss you dearly. You always positively influenced the mood of the people around you with your optimism and sense of humour. I cannot express how sad it makes me to think that you will no longer be there at all of my music concerts cheering me on as my number one fan, or waking everyone up early on Christmas Day playing ‘All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth’ . Don’t worry, I have been practicing my singing so that I can sing ‘Morning has broken’ extra loud at your funeral…we always loved a sing song didn’t we!

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
